Island Grown Farm
WEST TISBURY, MASSACHUSETTS // 2019 - ONGOING
Island Grown Farm is a landscape deeply rooted in purpose—designed not only as a place of production but as a space for education, community, and ecological stewardship. Thoughtfully shaped to support sustainable agriculture while fostering a deeper connection to the land, the farm’s landscape, both outside and inside the fence, enhances both function and experience.
At its core, the design prioritizes soil health, water conservation, and biodiversity. Native and climate-adapted plantings support pollinators and wildlife, while carefully integrated pathways and gathering spaces create seamless movement between farm operations and public engagement areas. The land’s natural contours are embraced, guiding stormwater naturally and reinforcing resilience in the face of changing environmental conditions.
The farm is not just a productive landscape—it is a teaching tool. Every garden bed, orchard, and meadow serves as a living classroom, demonstrating regenerative agricultural practices that sustain both the land and the community. Functional beauty is woven throughout and the work at Island Grown has been in progress long before we ever got involved. Their commitment to regenerative practices runs through all levels of farm management from the nuances of no-till beds to ongoing investment in the young agroforestry orchard.
Island Grown Farm embodies the idea that landscapes can be both productive and restorative. It is a place where people and nature thrive together, cultivating a future that is as bountiful as it is beautiful.
